The science behind Makara Sankaranthi and the etymology of festivals and deities Makaram is a rasi (astro sign) and Sun moves to this rasi marking the beginning of Uttarayanam (Uttar - North, Ayanam - Movement)You can 👀 that Sun moves from South to North from this festival, also indicating shifting of winter towards summer ☀️ 😮💨 Very similarly, Sun moves from North to South roughly after 6 months and is called Dakshinayanam (Dakshin - South, Ayanam - Movement, Dakshinamoorthy - Siva facing south)

Bhogi alias Pokki means removal of old thoughts Out of Sight means Out of Mind is the related Quote...As things remind our old memories (which become our thoughts 🤔), I think people started burning 🔥 things unconsciously and now it had became a practice. Kanniyar Kali is a folk dance ritual performed in Temples of villages in Alathur and Chittur Taluk of Palakkad district of Kerala. The event is usually a part of Vishu celebrations of the village and usually succeeds the Vela ( Village Fair) and is usually performed during the months of April and May. It is an agricultural festival dance of Nair community.[1] Kanniyar Kali, despite the name of the Virgin, does not have anything to do with the Kannaki cult.
